DC has these really long escalators to get into the subways. And on the side of each escalator is this smooth metal sheet that holds the machinery and would make for an awesome multi-story slide if it weren't for the fact that the subway people welded all these studs to it to stop people from sliding down them. I guess they have to do that, because it would be pretty dangerous to have people sliding down those things. But I was thinking today about how it would be so much more fun if we lived in a world where, instead of worrying about lawsuits and broken ankles, people were actually encouraged to slide down things like that. Someone could put a bunch of pillows at the bottom or something and a sign that said "Weeeee!" We should also be allowed to go to work wearing roller skates. That would also make life more fun. People should have more fun. There's no reason we have to be so serious all the time. |
